A Lifetime of Acting
Simply said, after over three decades of selling cars and trucks I went to my first acting audition. I will never forget, there were many casting directors just staring at me, waiting for my response to the first question... CAN YOU ACT ?
I responded... "Listen, I've been selling cars and trucks for over 30 f-cking years. IF I CAN'T ACT, NOBODY CAN!"
I got hired!

RJ has lived many lives all in one. His first career was in the automobile business, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. Eventually he transitioned out of the car business becoming an actor and producer in both movies and TV.

Onetime New Jersey auto dealer RJ Konner talks about his career in cars and films. He spearheaded the Konner's media relations. "I never get nervous in front of a camera", he said. Whenever a TV network news reporter would want to interview an auto dealer for a current story, reporters would simply cross the river from NYC to NJ and interview RJ.
